【Exhibition】Mutsumi Ishibashi Photography Exhibition – Nikkō: A Holy Land. Canon Gallery, Ginza. January 7 – 16, 2019. Tokyo.
Canon Gallery in Ginza, Tokyo, is currently holding an exhibition of photographer Mutsumi Ishibashi’s work. The exhibition, titled “Nikkō: A Holy Land”, features 30 photographs of the city of Nikkō taken over a period of ten years.
Mutsumi Ishibashi, the author of Manabi Japan’s “Into the Deep Forest” series, has had a long association with Nikkō from the time he first visited over 55 years ago and extending through his long career as a nature photographer.
Ishibashi’s years of careful observation and deep knowledge of Nikkō’s religious history underpin his work, as is evident in this collection of photographs.
