【Fireworks Display】Uminonakamichi Fireworks 2018, May 19th Fukuoka - Japan’s Top Fireworks Programmers and Pyrotechnicians Put on a Show
The spectacular “Uminonakamichi Fireworks 2018” will be held at the Hikari to Kaze no Hiroba in Uminonakamichi Seaside Park (Fukuoka, Kyūshū) on Saturday, 19 May 2018. Japan’s top fireworks programmers and fireworks artists will display their pyrotechnic art, using Japanese-manufactured fireworks.
Organised by Fukuoka City, the event aims to provide new recreation options in the prefecture; promote tourism and support the towns of Mashiki, Asakura and Tōhō, that were badly affected by the 2016 earthquake. Last year’s event attracted over 13,000 visitors.
The festival will feature music synchronized with the fireworks displays, with over 10,000 fireworks both in the sky and on the water. Artists will be vying with each other for the highest and most spectacular programs. Look forward to majestic fountains of fire and high altitude aerial displays.
This event is to be an annual fixture, with entertainment planned from the afternoon and into the night. Forty of Kyūshū’s top restaurants will have stalls in the food area, and there will also be a special DJ event to keep visitors entertained. As part of improved access, special buses will bring people to the venue from more than 25 different locations both within and beyond Fukuoka Prefecture.
